The story, based on a separation ruling by the Court of Trieste, begins with an unusual decision by a judge: given the couple's dispute over keeping the family home and the impossibility of determining who is the right parent for the child to live with, he assigns the family home to the couple's child and establishes that the parents alternate every Monday in the house. The sentence is provisional: in four months the judge will decide who is to live with the child, under the supervision of a social worker.

Francesco, nine years old, smart and rather lively, interpreting the sentence in his own way, convinces himself that he is now the boss of the house, triggering some very daring situations while also trying to bring his parents back together again.
